MLM Keys to Success
I am currently working in Multi-Level Marketing (MLM). I have compiled this list showing the proven techniques to being successful. I have done extensive research on the topic along with my extensive experience…a lot of the sites have a number, saying here are the 8 steps to being successful at MLM. I, on the other hand, am not going to put a number on this. I think that there are so many ways to be successful and a lot of this is based on your personality, how far you want to take your business, your goals and dreams, and how much time you want to invest in the business.
How to Be Successful at MLM:
* Persistence: the willingness to stick to the business, put in the time, and then see the rewards. MLM businesses are typically a job that can be done from the luxury of home, but that doesn’t mean that there is no investment of time. You will have to put in the time in order to reach the goals you have set for yourself and your future.
*Overcoming Rejection: talking to people you know and others you don’t about the product, and having them tell you they are not interested, could take the wind out of your sails. You must remember that this won’t be for everyone, it is hard to imagine someone not wanting to make millions, but not everyone will be interested. You have to be able to move to the next person when one says “no”. Personally, I just try to think in my own head, their loss. You are not going to want unmotivated people in your sales teams. You want people that are truly bought into the product and MLM design. This brings me to the next point
*Training your Sales Team: you will have to put in the time to train your sales team. You have to motivate the people you are sponsoring and bringing on board. They will need the tools to understand the business for themselves and then pass that on to their sponsors as well. Basically, you have to train your sponsors on the marketing side of the business…how to find their sales team, and you will need to train them on how to train downward. This is necessary to keep a solid team with very little turnover. You will get further faster with the proper training.
*Staying Motivated: money motivates!! Most people are motivated once they start to recieve compensation for their efforts. Reality is the faster you can grow your sales team, the faster they will start to benefit in rewards. You also must motivate your prospects with your own enthusiasm. People tend to get excited when they talk to someone else who is knowledgable and excited themselves. Listen to your delivery about the product and the opportunity you are offering. You must sound the way you feel about it…excited.
*Find the Right Compensation Package: when you are starting up with an MLM company, you need to make sure you are comfortable with the compensation package. You need to see the potential for your work, understand the earning potential. The rewards system doesn’t necessarily have to pay a lot per sponsor or customer, but needs to pay out ongoing over an extended period of time down many levels to increase your opportunity for returns.
*Talking to Strangers: our parents taught us not to talk to strangers when we were kids, but MLM is contrary to that lesson. You must be able to approach strangers comfortably, commuicating your ideas clearly, and getting to know your potential team members. Typically, these people won’t remain strangers for long. Once they have joined the sales team, they will become your friends, and you will be communicating with them regularly to train and motivate and track their progress.
*Find the Right Product: finding the right product is a matter of understanding the product and believing in the use. You will have greater success with a product that you believe in. You will come across knowledgable and excited about a product the more you know, understand, and believe in it.
*Marketing Knowledge: I would recommend reading what you can via the web on how to market a product or opportunity. You can find out a lot on the web. Stay tuned to my blog for a Marketing Via the Web 101 post coming soon. You want to hit the largest audience you can, and the potential on the Web is truly endless. Utilizing all the resources available to you only makes sense and will assist you in growing your sales team and business beyond what you have set in your goals.
*Get in Early: obviously, the earlier you get in on a particular MLM business, the more potential you will have for yourself. Getting in on the ground floor is key to your success!! The key to that is finding a product that is just being introduced and jumping in. There is no way to tell the future, so there will be some faith involved in this decision. Do your research on the potential and find a product you can believe in.
*Investment: all good MLM businesses have an initial investment. This is good. If there isn’t an investment of at least $100 you could easily just walk away from the team and drop the ball. The investment of time and money motivates you and your team to achieve the return on your investments. It isn’t so easy to just throw away the money, you will work harder to make you money back.
This is a good list of how to be successful in MLM Business. However, there are more suggestions I’m sure from others in the business. For you MLM professionals, I would love to hear your suggestions to the success you are having in the business and also educate others on how to become successful individuals.
